Symposium held to mark Deng Xiaoping’s 120th birth anniversary

CHENGDU, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) — A symposium was held on Friday in the city of Guang’an, southwest China’s Sichuan Province, to mark the 120th birth anniversary of late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping.
Representatives from all walks of life attended the symposium and cherished the memories of Comrade Deng Xiaoping’s great historic feats and revolutionary demeanor.
Sichuan is the hometown of Deng. Attendees of the symposium said they will carry forward the revolutionary traditions and heritage of Comrade Deng Xiaoping and other veteran revolutionaries.
Deng Xiaoping set out on his revolutionary journey from Sichuan and always held deep affection for his hometown, said Wang Xiaohui, secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China. ■
